Guwahati, 7th August: A daring chain snatcher, identified as Arjun Saha, met with an injury during a police encounter in Guwahati’s Chandrapur area on Monday. Arjun had snatched a chain from a woman by forcefully pulling it from her neck.
While being taken for investigation, Arjun attempted to escape, prompting the police to take action. He was shot in the left leg by the police and subsequently taken to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for medical treatment.
The police successfully recovered the stolen chain from Arjun’s possession.
Grateful for the prompt action and bravery of the police, the victim of the chain snatching expressed her gratitude.
In light of this incident, the police have issued a public appeal to exercise caution while wearing jewelry and valuables in public places to avoid such incidents.
