Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar Receives ‘Z’ Category CRPF Security Cover Ahead of Lok Sabha Elections
National Desk, 9th April: In preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar has been assigned ‘Z’ category Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) security cover across the nation, according to information received on Tuesday.
The decision to enhance Kumar’s security was made by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) following recent threat assessments from the Intelligence Bureau, highlighting potential international threats.
CRPF commandos will be deployed to ensure Kumar’s safety during his national travels, both day and night, as well as during his stays in Delhi and at his office. More than three dozen armed CRPF commandos will be responsible for Kumar’s protection, ensuring heightened security measures are in place to safeguard his well-being.
