In connection with Pre-Matric Scholarship scam case, a team of CID Officers with help of local police conducted a search operation at various locations under Chaygoan and Boko P.S area to apprehend accused persons. During search, one accused person namely, Jahangir Alam from village Tapar Pathar under Chaygaon P.S was apprehended. The accused is an owner of CSP of Bank of Baroda, Chaygaon branch located at Choutara Bazar under Chaygaon P.S.
The apprehended accused person Jahangir Alam had facilitated the fraudulent withdrawal of pre-matric scholarships amount meant for a large number of students of different schools of Goalpara district through his CSP.
