Classes Temporarily Suspended at Majuli School Due to Conjunctivitis Outbreak
Guwahati, 18th August: Amidst an escalating outbreak of conjunctivitis among students, Sankardev Sishu Vidya Niketan in Majuli’s Bongaon, Assam, has decided to suspend classes for two consecutive days. The authorities took this step as approximately 200 out of 350 students, along with teachers and chancellors, were affected by this contagious eye infection.
This outbreak has raised concerns about the rapid transmission of the infection among the student population, prompting the school administration to take immediate action. It’s noteworthy that the eye infection has also been spreading in every village of Majuli.
The temporary suspension of classes is a precautionary measure to control the outbreak and ensure the health and safety of the students and staff.
