Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced an ex-gratia of Rs 1lakh each to the families of the deceased who were killed in a road mishap in Assam’s Karimganj district on Thursday
According to reports, all the deceased persons belong to the Longkai Tea Estate in Patharkandi.
The deceased included three men, five women and two children. They were identified as Duja Bai Panika, Shalu Bai Panika, Gaurav Das Panika, Lalon Goswami, Shambhu Das Panika, Puja Garh, Dev Garh, Manglae Karmakar, Tapu Karmakar including auto driver Sanu Ree.
Sarma further instructed the district administration to take all necessary steps for the treatment of those injured in the incident.
It may be mentioned that in the incident at least nine persons killed and one got severely injured.
