CM Himanta Biswa Sarma’s Candid Appeal for Lost Charger Wins Hearts Online

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma recently took to social media with a heartfelt—and slightly humorous—post that has struck a chord with thousands online.

Sharing a moment from his international journey, Sarma recounted how a kind fellow passenger lent him an international plug and charging cable during his Emirates flight from Delhi to Dubai.

However, the Chief Minister, who was en route to Amsterdam, fell asleep during the journey and missed the opportunity to return the items.

“Unfortunately, he disembarked in Dubai while I was asleep, and I couldn’t return them,” Sarma wrote, expressing his gratitude and regret.

Now in Amsterdam for investment and economic development meetings, Sarma issued a public appeal to the unknown traveler: “If this message reaches him, please send me a direct message so I can arrange to return your charger and cable promptly.”

The post has since gone viral, drawing widespread appreciation for Sarma’s humility and sincerity. Social media users flooded the comments with praise, calling it a rare and refreshing gesture from a public figure. Some even jokingly offered to send replacement chargers on behalf of the unidentified good Samaritan.

As of now, it remains unknown whether the original owner has come forward—but one thing is clear: CM Sarma’s candid moment has left a lasting impression on the internet.
