CM Manik Saha: Tripura Will Get NCB Zonal Office
Guwahati: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha said on Thursday that the state would receive a zonal office of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).
CM Saha stated that “A zonal office of NCB is to be built in the state” in order to highlight his administration’s aggressive approach to the drug problem in Tripura.
Speaking to media yesterday in the state capital of Agartala following a significant state-level meeting of the Narco Coordination Center (NCORD), he reaffirmed his government’s “zero tolerance approach against drugs dealers.”
The Tripura CM further said, “Cooperation from narcotics control bureau will be there”, vowing to make the state 100 per cent drug-free.
It should be mentioned that Tripura, Mizoram, and Arunachal Pradesh would each have a separate NCB zone, as Union Home Minister Amit Shah declared in October.
In recent months, the Center has frequently advocated for a zero tolerance approach to drug use, trafficking, and peddling in the Northeast.
