CM Sarma: Assam moving ahead on path of development

Guwahati: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday stated that Assam is moving towards the goal of development.

The Chief Minister stated that the projects inaugurated in Morigaon have the potential to significantly transform Morigaon district into one of the most progressive ones on all fronts in the days to come while attending the Bhumipujan and Foundation Laying programme of Morigaon Medical College in Morigaon.

He also discussed the government’s proposal to give 7,000 people ration cards.

According to the Chief Minister, Assam has not undertaken any such undertakings or developmental activity in the previous 75 years. He expressed his gratitude for the affection and support of the Assamese people and said he is pleased and happy to serve them.

The Chief Minister is in the district to dedicate three significant projects: a concrete bridge connecting Morigaon and Jagiroad that will cost Rs 75 crore to build over the River Kapili, Rs 100 crore granted for PWD road construction, and Rs 63 crore designated for the Water Resources department. CM Sarma also laid the cornerstone for the district’s ITI and Polytechnic colleges’ reconstruction.

The Assam government’s programme, wherein 11 districts will receive development projects totaling Rs 15,000 crore. The CM inaugurated a model hospital, a dining hall in a temple in Bongaigaon, laid the cornerstones for a new medical college, an integrated deputy commissioner’s office, a convention centre, and announced plans to upgrade Bongaigaon Polytechnic College for more than Rs 693 crore on the first day of the initiative on December 5.

On December 6, Sarma originally inaugurated and laid the cornerstones for a number of Rs 678 crore projects in the Nalbari district, including the repair and construction of a number of roads, the establishment of a horticulture and Agriculture College, a planetarium, and a sports complex, among other things.

On December 7, the Chief Minister made an official visit to Tamulpur during which he inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of multiple developmental projects.
