Guwahati: Assam has seized drugs worth Rs 900 crore since May 2021, informed chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Sarma added that a total of 6800 persons have been arrested in relation to the seizures.
The chief minister declared that the Assam government “is continuing its campaign against Drugs.”
He continued, “Drugs worth Rs 900 crore have been confiscated, and 6,800 people have been detained in Assam since May 2021.
Assam police has intensified its anti-drug campaign since the election of the Himanta Biswa Sarma-led government in May 2021.
The police made enormous narcotics seizures worth crores of rupees after a crackdown on multiple criminal networks.
