CM Sarma meets Prime Minister Modi over Assam-Mizoram Border row
Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi to hold a discussion over the ongoing border dispute between Assam and Mizoram.
According to a report, the Chief Minister also met Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
It may be mentioned that Assam and Mizoram are in a clash regarding a border dispute. The dispute resulted in the death of at least six Assam Police personnel along with more than 80 persons being injured due to the incident.
Meanwhile, a report stated that All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief and Lok Sabha MP Badruddin Ajmal will meet Union Home Minister to talk over the encroachments into Assam by other northeastern states.
Ajmal is currently in the national capital and he will be meeting Amit Shah today on this particular issue.
