Guwahati, 29th August: In the wake of Assamese singer Zubeen Garg’s recent commentary on the Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP), a formal complaint was lodged against him in Morigaon on Tuesday.
The Morigaon district unit of the AJP has taken action, filing a complaint at the Morigaon Sadar Station against the singer. The complaint stems from Garg’s description of the party as a ‘fotua’ (nonsensical) entity, and it cautions him against affiliating with any political party.
Garg’s comment follows his characterization of the AJP as a ‘fotua party,’ further elaborating, “After participating with me in the CAA andolan, they formed a political party.”
