Guwahati, 17th May: Kaliabor village is gripped by anxiety following the disappearance of Mainul Islam, a young man from Hatibandha village, who has gone missing while working in Kerala. Mainul, along with four friends, left for Kerala on May 10 in search of employment opportunities. However, communication with Mainul ceased on Monday, May 13, leaving his family in distress and fearing for his safety.
Mainul’s family shared that he had maintained regular contact with them until May 13, after which all communication abruptly stopped. This sudden silence has left his wife and son in a state of peril, with no information on his whereabouts or well-being.
Adding to the family’s anxiety, this incident comes shortly after another tragedy involving a young man from Kaliabor who lost his life while traveling to work in Kerala. This earlier tragedy has intensified the distress and concern of Mainul’s family.
