Cong Leader Ghulam Nabi Azad Resigns from all Party Posts
Guwahati: Ghulam Nabi Azad, a senior leader in the Congress, abruptly resigned from the organisation while taking pot-shots at the Gandhi’s and the party’s organisational leadership.
Azad explained his decision to leave the party in a letter to Congress president Sonia Gandhi, citing the marginalisation of veteran figures and the growing influence of a “coterie of inexperienced sycophants.”
The former Rajya Sabha member also attacked Rahul Gandhi, blaming him for the Congress’s declining political influence and dismal electoral results.
On August 16, Azad resigned from her position as director of the Jammu and Kashmir Congress campaign committee.
