Congress Candidate Seeks Ban on Assam Governor’s Entry Amidst Allegations of Illegal Campaigning

National Desk, 13th November: Gaurav Vallabh, the Congress candidate for the upcoming Rajasthan elections, has urged the Election Commission to bar Assam’s Governor, Gulabchand Kataria, from entering Udaipur, alleging his involvement in illegal campaigning for BJP candidate Tarachand Jain.

Vallabh, who also serves as Congress’s national spokesperson, contends that Kataria’s political activities violate the Code of Conduct as he currently holds a constitutional post. In his communication to the Election Commission, Vallabh emphasizes the need to address the potential violation during the electoral process.

Gulab Chand Kataria, a senior BJP leader from Udaipur and a member of the Central Election Committee, previously served as Rajasthan’s Home Minister before assuming the role of Assam’s Governor. The Rajasthan elections are scheduled for November 25, with results expected in December.
