Congress Confident of Victory in Assam By-Elections as Draft Electoral Rolls Are Released

Guwahati, 5th Sepetember: Congress MLA Abdur Rashid Mandal has expressed strong confidence in the party’s performance in the upcoming Assam by-elections, predicting victories across all five contested seats. Mandal emphasized the party’s preparation and unity, noting robust public support as a key factor in their optimism.

The Assam State Election Commission has published the draft electoral rolls for the five constituencies holding by-elections: Dholai (SC), Sidli (ST), Bongaigaon, Behali, and Samaguri. The rolls, announced on Tuesday, provide detailed information on polling stations and voter registration.

Bongaigaon will feature 246 polling stations serving 1,82,354 voters, including 89,510 males, 92,842 females, and two third-gender individuals. Samaguri will have 197 stations for 1,80,448 voters, comprising 91,304 males, 89,133 females, and 11 third-gender voters.

Dholai will conduct its by-elections across 208 polling stations with a total of 1,96,772 voters, including 99,431 males, 97,340 females, and one third-gender voter. Behali’s draft rolls account for 1,33,300 voters across 154 polling stations, while Sidli will cater to 2,12,555 voters, including 1,05,133 males, 1,06,920 females, and two third-gender voters.

The release of these details marks a significant step in the electoral process, setting the stage for the crucial by-elections in Assam.
