Congress Faces Further Setback as Legislators Defect to BJP in Arunachal Pradesh

Northeast Desk, 25th February: The crisis deepens for the Congress party as, following developments in Assam, two Congress legislators have officially switched allegiance to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during a formal joining ceremony held at the state party office.

In addition to the Congress defections, two leaders from the National People’s Party (NPP) have also crossed over to the BJP during the same event.

The BJP’s joining ceremony took place today, February 25, with Arunachal Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Ashok Singh, the party’s in-charge for Arunachal Pradesh for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, in attendance.

Among those who joined the BJP today are West Pasighat MLA Ninong Ering and Borduria Bogapani MLA Wanglin Lowangdong, both from the Congress. Additionally, Roing MLA Mutchu Mithi and Basar MLA Gokar Basar, representing the NPP, have also switched to the BJP.
