Congress Leader Jairam Ramesh Criticizes Education Ministry Over Delays in Textbook Publishing

National Desk, 5th July: Congress leader Jairam Ramesh launched a scathing critique of the Education Ministry, accusing it of jeopardizing children’s education due to delays in publishing new textbooks for Class 6 students. In a tweet on July 5, Ramesh highlighted that despite the commencement of the school year, the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has yet to release new textbooks for Science, Mathematics, and Social Sciences.

Ramesh asserted that the National Syllabus and Teaching Learning Material Committee (NSTC) has not finalized the textbooks. Officials indicated that the printing process would take an additional 10 to 15 days, potentially causing a two-month delay before the new books are available to students.

The Congress leader did not hold back in his criticism, suggesting that “either the rot runs deep, or the incompetence reaches new heights every day.” He also targeted the Prime Minister, referring to him disparagingly, and accused the National Testing Authority of undermining the examination process.

The delays have sparked concern among parents and educators, who fear the impact on students’ learning and academic progress.
