Congress Leader Pawan Khera Brought Before Dwarka Court

Guwahati: Congress Leader Pawan Khera have been brought before the Dwarka Court for a transit remand on February 23, at around 3 PM.

Moreover, Senior Counsel AM Singhvi brought up the argument made before CJI Chandrachud. The argument asks for the combination of FIRs against Khera that were filed in separate states. The topic have been discussed from around 3 PM.

Following his deplaning from a flight from Delhi to Raipur on February 23, Congress leader Pawan Khera was detained by the Assam Police at this airport in relation to his alleged statements against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Assam Police requested assistance in order to apprehend the suspect Pawan Khera in connection with FIR No. 19/2023, PS Dima Hasao, District Haflong, Assam.

Based on this, the necessary local assistance was given and after Assam Police requested it accused Pawan Khera was taken into custody from Terminal 1 of IGI Airport and later apprehended by the IO in question.

A case was filed against the Congress leader on February 22 at Haflong police station in Dima Hasao district of Assam, according to Prasanta Bhuyan, IGP Law and Order, Assam Police.

“A case was filed against Khera at Haflong police station. On the basis of the case, a team of Assam Police reached Delhi to bring Khera to Assam and interrogate him. The police team is carrying out all legal formalities to bring Khera to the state. Khera has been booked under Case no 19/2023 under Sections 153A/153(1)/500/504/505(1)(b) and 505(2)and 120B IPC, which includes criminal conspiracy, inciting communal disharmony”.
