Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi Accuses BJP of Propaganda, Demands Amit Shah’s Resignation
Assam: Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi has criticized Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for allegedly engaging in “propaganda and false FIRs” to divert public attention. Gogoi’s remarks came in response to a controversial statement by Shah in Parliament, which the opposition has labeled as “insulting” to Dr. BR Ambedkar.
Speaking to reporters, Gogoi stated that the INDIA Alliance remains united in its demand for Shah’s resignation and a public apology for the alleged remarks. “It is too late, and those eleven seconds are going to cost him in the coming period,” he said, referencing a part of Shah’s speech that has drawn sharp criticism from the opposition.
The Congress MP accused the BJP of using diversionary tactics to shift focus from pressing national issues and vowed that the INDIA Alliance would continue to hold the government accountable.
The opposition’s call for Shah’s resignation underscores escalating tensions in Parliament, as debates over governance and accountability intensify ahead of upcoming elections.
