Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi: BJP Apprehensive About Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra

National Desk, 9th January: Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi claimed that the BJP is apprehensive about Rahul Gandhi’s upcoming Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, expressing fears that the Congress party will address critical issues like inflation and unemployment, which he attributes to the BJP. Gogoi highlighted the BJP’s concerns, stating, “There was a sense of fear in BJP that after Rahul Gandhi’s second yatra (Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra) people will get a new hope that issues of inflation and unemployment created by BJP will be solved by the Congress party…”

The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, announced by the Congress on December 27, 2023, is set to begin on January 14, 2024, from Manipur and conclude on March 20 in Mumbai, covering 6,700 kilometers across 15 states. The march aims to address livelihood issues, diverging from its predecessor’s focus on communalism and divisive politics. Rahul Gandhi will lead this march, seeking to galvanize support ahead of the 2024 Indian general election.

Despite facing disqualification and subsequent reinstatement, Rahul Gandhi remains a pivotal figure in Congress’s campaign strategy. As the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra approaches, the Congress party appears poised to challenge the BJP with a campaign emphasizing justice, secularism, federalism, pluralism, democracy, and constitutionalism. The alleged unease within the BJP, as suggested by Gaurav Gogoi, may stem from the potential mobilization and unity that Rahul Gandhi’s yatra could inspire among voters dissatisfied with current economic challenges.
