Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi Criticizes Union Budget and Economic Survey 2024

National Desk, 23rd July: Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi launched a scathing attack on the Union Budget and Economic Survey 2024, accusing the Prime Minister of favoring wealthy individuals close to him and neglecting the middle class and sincere taxpayers. Gogoi described the budget as full of “empty promises” for ordinary citizens.

Earlier, Gogoi criticized the Union Government for presenting an overly optimistic view of the country’s economic situation. He accused the government of being out of touch with the real hardships faced by ordinary citizens, portraying the survey as a depiction of “Sab Changa Si” (everything is fine), while in reality, people are struggling.

Highlighting the government’s failure to control inflation, Gogoi pointed out that this issue remains a significant burden for the poor and middle class. He emphasized that while the wealthy might be insulated from rising prices, it is a severe concern for those with limited means. “Today, for the poor and middle class, ‘Modi means inflation,'” he remarked, underscoring the perception that the current administration is synonymous with economic distress.

Gogoi also criticized Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, alleging that she appears indifferent to the issue of inflation, further exacerbating the challenges faced by the middle class and poor.
