Congress MP Randeep Singh Surjewala Calls for Probe into Electoral Bonds Amid Allegations of Corruption

National Desk, 16th April: In a scathing critique, Randeep Singh Surjewala, Congress Member of Parliament (MP) and General Secretary, has lambasted Prime Minister Modi’s recent remarks on electoral bonds. Surjewala alleges that these bonds symbolize systematic corruption and the unethical depletion of public funds.

Employing the evocative phrase ‘chanda do, dhandha lo’ (give donations, take business), Surjewala conveys his perspective on the contentious issue. He asserts that electoral bonds have facilitated a culture of corruption, where political contributions are exchanged for undue influence and favors.

Expressing grave concern over the matter, Surjewala emphasizes the urgent need for a thorough investigation. He contends that the next government should spearhead an inquiry, under the oversight of a Supreme Court judge, to delve into the alleged malpractices surrounding electoral bonds.

“Prime Minister Modi’s endorsement of electoral bonds reveals a disturbing trend of organized corruption and the exploitation of public resources,” Surjewala asserts. “This ‘chanda do, dhandha lo’ mentality has deeply compromised the integrity of our democratic process. It is imperative that a transparent and impartial investigation be conducted by the incoming government, with the guidance of a Supreme Court judge.”

Surjewala’s remarks underscore the growing scrutiny surrounding electoral bonds and the pressing need for accountability within India’s political landscape.
