Congress Reshuffles State Leadership, Focuses on Grassroots Reinforcement
Agartala: The Indian National Congress has unveiled a series of new state-level appointments, aiming to bolster its organisational framework in Tripura, Meghalaya, and Odisha. This strategic move is seen as a crucial step in the party’s efforts to strengthen its grassroots presence and prepare for upcoming electoral battles.
In Tripura, Sanjoy Das will now lead the Fishermen Congress Department, while Malin Sadhan Jamatia takes charge of the Ex-Servicemen Department. These appointments, announced via an official release from the All India Congress Committee (AICC), are effective immediately, signaling the party’s intent to address specific community needs within the state.
Meghalaya’s Social Media Department has undergone a significant leadership change, with Lang Kapur War appointed as Chairman and Cuthbert Sohtun as Co-Chairman. The AICC’s decision to revamp the digital outreach team underscores the growing importance of online communication in contemporary politics.
Odisha has also seen a key appointment, with Lalatendu Satpathy named Chairman of the state’s Social Media Department. This move highlights the Congress party’s determination to enhance its digital engagement and connect with voters in the eastern region.
These organisational adjustments reflect the Congress party’s ongoing strategy to revitalise its state units by introducing new leadership and fortifying departmental structures across key regions. Party insiders suggest that further appointments and structural changes are anticipated in the coming weeks, as the Congress prepares for a series of electoral challenges.
