“Congress will form government in all 5 states” says President Mallikarjun Kharge

National Desk, 25th October: Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge expressed confidence on October 25 that the grand old party would secure victory and form the government in all five states ahead of the assembly elections.

Kharge stated, “The work for the five state elections is progressing well, and we are confident of winning in all five states. There is significant anti-incumbency sentiment against the BJP due to rising inflation and unemployment. The BJP has not fulfilled its promises. Ashok Gehlot and Bhupesh Baghel are doing commendable work in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, where there are no major issues. In Madhya Pradesh, problems persist due to Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and people are against him. Therefore, we anticipate forming our government in all five states, and things will improve.”

Responding to whether the 5-state elections would serve as a semi-final for the 2024 General elections, Kharge remarked, “No that is not the case. Each state has unique election issues, and voting reflects those issues. Parliamentary elections differ from Assembly elections. PM Modi tends to label every election as a way to elect him, be it municipal or assembly elections. Is he going to assume the role of Chief Minister? People vote for local leaders who address their concerns and work to resolve them.”

Assembly elections are scheduled to occur in single or two phases in all five states, namely Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Mizoram in November.

The election dates for the five states are as follows:

– Mizoram: November 7

– Chhattisgarh: November 7 and 17

– Madhya Pradesh: November 17

– Rajasthan: November 25

– Telangana: November 30

Vote counting for all five states will take place on December 3.
