Conrad Sangma Launches NPP Campaign in Arunachal Pradesh, Backs Gokar Basar

Northeast Desk, 6th April: Conrad Sangma, President of the National People’s Party (NPP) and Chief Minister of Meghalaya, commenced the party’s election campaign in Arunachal Pradesh, rallying support for Gokar Basar, the NPP candidate contesting from the Basar Assembly constituency in Leparada district.

Joined by James Sangma and his wife, Conrad Sangma led the spirited campaign event, marking Basar’s switch to the NPP after being denied a ticket by the BJP, where he currently serves as the MLA.

Amidst a massive turnout, CM Sangma urged citizens to cast their votes in favor of the NPP, emphasizing the party’s commitment to enhancing the Northeast region’s welfare.

Addressing media inquiries, Sangma addressed allegations of a one crore seizure from his convoy, clarifying that the incident involved another vehicle and reaffirming the NPP’s stance on the matter.
