Guwahati: A constable at the Jogighopa Police Station in Assam was suspended after the death of an inmate while in detention on Wednesday.
The incident reportedly occurred near Jogighopa in Assam’s Bongaigaon district.
The decision was made after one of the detainees in police custody committed suicide.
Meanwhile, the constable was identified as Makimul Haque Patgiri and was in charge of patrolling the police station at the time.
