Contract Killer Shot Dead in Police Encounter In Lumding Firing Incident
Guwahati: The Bihar based contract killer who was arrested in connection to the firing incident in Lumding of Assam was encountered by the police on Sunday night.
The deceased contract killer has been identified as Mohan Kumar.
The Lumding Police started a search effort on Sunday evening to find the concealed pistols that were used in the incident.
The police and Mohan arrived at the location of the concealed firearms. Two hand-made pistols were recovered from the spot.
Mohan attempted to use a.32 pistol to shoot the cops as he fled, though. The bullets however hit the police vehicle.
The police responded by firing further shots at the accused, which caused him to suffer severe injuries.
Though he was brought to the hospital for treatment, the doctors declared him dead.
It should be noted that Mohan Kumar and his associate Saheb Rajak were arrested on Sunday morning for shooting former railroad employee Tarun Chakrabarty on December 9.
Chakrabarty had suffered head and neck wounds. He’s being treated at the Lumding Railway hospital right now.
