Controversial SP Leena Doley Under CBI’s Radar in Connection to SI Junmoni Rabha Death
Guwahati, 31st July: High drama unfolded on Monday as Superintendent of Police Leena Doley from Hailakandi district found herself under the investigative lens of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The CBI’s interest in Doley stems from her alleged involvement in the mysterious death of former Morikolong sub-inspector, Junmoni Rabha.
Reliable sources report that a team of CBI officials is currently conducting an intense interrogation of SP Doley at an undisclosed location within Guwahati city. The investigation seeks to shed light on the perplexing circumstances surrounding Junmoni Rabha’s untimely demise.
The probe was initiated based on an FIR lodged by the grieving mother of the deceased officer, Sumitra Rabha, at Jakhalabandha police station on May 19 earlier this year. As the case garnered attention and raised serious concerns, the CBI summoned the then Nagaon SP Doley for questioning today.
Prior to this development, a separate CBI team, led by DIG Lovely Kataria of the central probe agency, had conducted a thorough inquiry, reaching out to individuals involved in the case. Their investigation covered Nagaon and Lakhimpur districts, with various people connected to the smuggling of Fake Gold and Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) subjected to questioning.
Furthermore, the CBI team personally visited the location in Kaliabor where SI Junmoni Rabha’s vehicle met with a tragic accident, adding another layer of complexity to the case.
As the interrogation unfolds, the public awaits the outcome of the CBI’s inquiry, hoping for answers and justice in this perplexing and highly sensitive matter.
