Convoy Carrying Taliban Members Attacked in Afghanistan, Several Injured

Guwahati: A convoy carrying Taliban members was reportedly attacked in Afghanistan’s Herat city on Monday morning.

Officials said that in the heart of Herat city, unidentified attackers attacked a minivan transporting Taliban militants of the 207 Al-Farooq Corps.

According to Herat police spokesperson Mohammad Shah Rassoul, one of the attackers was killed and numerous others, including bystanders, were hurt.

On July 2, a hand grenade was thrown into a religious school in the eastern Afghan province of Nangarhar by unidentified assailants, injuring eight persons. The attack happened during a three-day religious scholars’ and elders’ conference that started in Kabul and will end on Saturday.

The previous week, a bombing in Nangarhar resulted in the deaths and injuries of numerous civilians. The head of the district health department was the target of the bomb when the unidentified assailants deployed a magnetic mine to target the car of the head.
