Coordinated Heist Rocks Bongaigaon: Three Homes Burgled Simultaneously
Guwahati: Bongaigaon residents, particularly those in the Barshongaon area, have been left stunned and apprehensive following an audacious, meticulously planned burglary that saw three homes targeted simultaneously. The audacious act occurred while the residents were away, providing an undisturbed window for the miscreants to execute their synchronized heist.
The uncanny incident unfolded at the residences of Ajit Das, Beni Madhab Singh, and Satish Sharma. All three households were reportedly vacant, making them prime and vulnerable targets for the thieves who seemingly exploited the opportune moment.
Police sources have revealed a significant loss, with gold ornaments valued at over Rs 7 lakh stolen from Ajit Das’s home alone. At Satish Sharma’s residence, burglars made off with a quantity of gold jewellery along with a sum of cash. The full extent of the loss at Beni Madhab Singh’s house is still under assessment, adding to the growing concerns of the affected families.
Promptly responding to the alarming incident, the Superintendent of Police, accompanied by several senior police officials, arrived at the crime scene. A thorough investigation has been launched, with forensic teams pressed into service and CCTV footage from the vicinity being meticulously examined for crucial clues.
The coordinated nature of the burglary, impacting multiple households in the same neighbourhood concurrently, has ignited serious questions among the populace regarding local surveillance efficacy and overall security preparedness. Residents are now demanding answers and enhanced measures to prevent such brazen acts in the future.
