Guwahati: The Officer-in-Charge (OC) posted at the Mushalpur Police Station was injured in a firing incident in Baksa district of Assam on Saturday night.
The incident took place at Ujirbari in Mushalpur.
The OC identified as Ananda Rabha.
According to reports, Rabha sustained bullet injuries when he had gone to arrest an accused.
The accused has been identified as Robin Kalita. He has been charged with allegations of child marriage.
OC Rabha was injured after a bullet from his service gun hit his left leg. The incident occurred after a minor clash took place between the accused and the OC.
The OC who has sustained the bullet injury is being treated at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
On the other hand, the Mushalpur Police have arrested the accused Robin Kalita.
