Cotton University Secures A Grade Accreditation, Vice-Chancellor Recognized Among World’s Top Scientists
Guwahati, September 6, 2024 — Cotton University has been awarded an A grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), achieving a CGPA of 3.05 on a seven-point scale. This distinction reflects the institution’s unwavering commitment to maintaining high academic standards and excellence in education.
This achievement marks Cotton University’s first cycle of assessment as a university, making it the first institution in the northeast to secure such a prestigious grade.
Adding to the university’s accolades, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ramesh Chandra Deka was included in Elsevier’s prestigious list of the World’s Top 2% Scientists in 2023. This international recognition highlights Prof. Deka’s significant contributions to scientific research.
Assam’s Cabinet and Education Minister, Ranoj Pegu, congratulated Prof. Deka and Cotton University, lauding the institution’s efforts in promoting research excellence. “This remarkable achievement demonstrates the research capabilities of universities in Assam,” he stated on X, celebrating the university’s ongoing strides in academic and research fields.
