Couple Abandons Newborn Baby with Teenager in Assam’s Jorhat District
Guwahati, 31st August: In a shocking case of child abandonment, a young couple from Assam’s Jorhat district allegedly handed over their newborn baby to a 17-year-old boy before quickly leaving the scene. The incident occurred near Baghchung in the Lichubari area.
The couple approached the teenager and handed him the baby, then abruptly departed, leaving the teenager stunned and unsure of what to do. He rushed home with the baby and informed his mother, who then took them to a nearby hospital. They were subsequently referred to the Jorhat Medical College Hospital (JMCH) for further care.
The teenager recounted that the couple casually gave him the baby and hurriedly left the area, ignoring his calls. This incident has raised concerns within the community, and local police have been informed of the situation.
