Guwahati, 2 May: In a tragic incident, a young couple was discovered hanging from a tree in Duliajan on Tuesday morning. The duo was discovered hanging from the same tree near the main road, in Bokuloni Village No. 1 where the incidentt was first reported.
The bodies have been recognised as those of Dingul and Manika Bhuyan. The locals first spotted the duo and alerted the authorities. Moreover, the couple got married before three months and was suffering from a severe financial difficulty.
According to authorities, it is believed that the couple’s drastic action was due to their financial issues they were having, however, the precise cause will only become clear following a thorough investigation.
The discovery of their death has cast a veil of doom over the region as residents claim that the pair was always amicable to the community and never got into any sort of argument with anyone. Later, local police located the bodies and sent them to Assam Medical College in Dibrugarh for an autopsy.
Earlier, a young woman was discovered hanging from a tree earlier last month in Golaghat district of Assam. The woman was missing for a few days and was a resident of Kekura village in Tengani.
The deceased have been identified as Maina Gorh.
