Crackdown in Arunachal: Army and Police Nab Two with Ammunition

Agartala: Acting on precise intelligence inputs from Military Intelligence (Kolkata), a joint operation by the Indian Army and Roing Police unfolded in Arunachal Pradesh’s Lower Dibang Valley district. The coordinated effort targeted the Bishmak Nagar area, leading to a significant recovery.

The operation successfully intercepted two individuals, identified as Deepaak Deori from Bhabanigarh in Assam’s Tinsukia district, and his associate, Olik Deori. From their possession, authorities seized ten live 7.62 mm bullets, suspected to be intended for overground workers (OGWs).

Both Deepaak Deori and Olik Deori have been taken into custody. Investigators believe the duo may have connections to insurgent networks active in the region, and further questioning is underway to ascertain the full extent of their involvement.

Following this development, security forces have ramped up their vigilance and surveillance operations in the border areas of both Arunachal Pradesh and Assam. This intensified effort aims to curtail the movement of illegal arms and prevent any insurgent activities from gaining traction in the strategically important region.
