CRPF Jawan from Assam’s Kokrajhar Found Dead in Srinagar, Suicide Suspected
Guwahati, 22nd March: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan hailing from Assam’s Kokrajhar district reportedly lost his life in Srinagar. The deceased CRPF jawan, identified as Swapan Nath (32), allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle, according to preliminary information.
Swapan Nath’s family members received a phone call this morning, informing them that he had attempted suicide and was in critical condition. Despite being admitted to the hospital, the CRPF jawan was declared dead by the attending doctors.
Subsequently, pictures of the deceased jawan were sent to the family, revealing that he was found lying in a pool of blood with a rifle beside him, bearing brutal gunshot wounds on his skull. However, the kin of deceased Swapan Nath are denying the belief that he had committed suicide.
Notably, Nath had been transferred from Shillong to Srinagar a few months ago. The news of his death has cast a pall of gloom over Nath’s native village in Kokrajhar.
Nath’s mortal remains were brought via flight to New Delhi from Srinagar later in the evening, as per reports. Upon reaching Guwahati today, his mortal remains were transported to his native village via roadways.
