Guwahati: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan allegedly died by shooting himself with his service rifle in Golaghat district of Assam on Friday morning.
The incident took place at 155 CRPF camp in Sarupathar area along Assam-Nagaland border.
The deceased jawan identified as 30-year-old Raj Singh.
Soon after the incident, CRPF officials and police reached the spot.
Meanwhile, an investigation has been initiated by the officials.
However, the exact reason behind the jawan taking the extreme step is yet to be ascertained.
