CTA President Penpa Tsering Visits Sikkim to Engage with Tibetan Community and Address Welfare Initiatives

Sikkim: The President (Syikong) of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), Penpa Tsering, is on an official visit to Sikkim from November 8 to 11, focusing on connecting with the Tibetan community and understanding their needs.

During a press conference held at Hotel Tibet, Tsering shared that his visit is dedicated to the welfare and improvement of Tibetan settlements in India. He outlined ongoing initiatives by the CTA to support the Tibetan population across various regions in India.

This marks Tsering’s second official visit to Sikkim, where he is set to meet with Tibetan residents in Gangtok and attend the inaugural ceremony of the Mindolling Monastery in Tumlong, North Sikkim. His stop in Sikkim is part of a broader tour from November 2 to 11, which included Tibetan settlements in Tenzingang, Bomdila, Tawang, Dimapur, and Shillong.

Following the press conference, Tsering engaged in a question-and-answer session with the media, addressing various topics related to the CTA’s efforts for Tibetan welfare in India.
