Guwahati: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kamrup Metropolitan has established a helpline number for the people’ aid and support in light of the effects of Cyclone “Sitrang.”
A tweet posted by DC Kamrup (M) read, “In view of the effects of cyclonic storm ‘Sitrang’, concerned citizens may reach out for assistance/ reporting of infrastructural damages etc. on our helpline number 9365429314.”
As a remnant of cyclone Sitrang, which is currently moving towards Bangladesh, heavy to moderate rains have been falling in Guwahati and a few other locations in the Kamrup (M) District since yesterday, October 24. Due to the cyclone’s aftereffects, such unfavourable weather conditions in the state are also expected to result in water logging and property damages.
