DC of Mon District Issues Travel Restrictions Following Mysterious Deaths of Assam Youths in Nagaland
Guwahati, 27th September: In response to the unsettling discovery of two deceased youths from Assam within Nagaland’s borders, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Mon District has taken swift action by issuing crucial directives concerning travel to and from the district.
According to the directives, residents of Mon are advised to curtail their journeys to Assam’s Sonari. Furthermore, the DC has earnestly appealed for the suspension of all passenger vehicle services commuting from Mon district to Dimapur via Sonari.
In alignment with these precautionary measures, passenger vehicles have been urged to temporarily refrain from traveling to Dimapur, while private vehicles are strongly discouraged from venturing towards Sonari. This advisory aims to mitigate any potential untoward incidents, given the sensitive nature of the recent tragedy.
The incident that prompted these actions revolves around the perplexing deaths of two Assamese youths in Nagaland’s Mon district. The victims, identified as Lalit Nowholia and Utpal Tassa, both originally from Sonari in Assam, were discovered in a half-naked state with evident signs of injury on their bodies. Suspicion surrounds the possibility of foul play by unidentified individuals in what appears to be a tragic case of murder.
Sources have revealed that the ill-fated duo had embarked on a journey to Nagaland on September 22 with plans to return a day later. However, their abrupt disappearance led to concerns and ultimately initiated an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding their tragic demise.
