Guwahati: A 56-year-old man was found dead under mysterious circumstances at National Highway 15 in Lakhimpur district of Assam on Friday night.
The deceased has been identified as Kalidas Sarma who is a resident of Bihpuria town and was working at a Gramin Bank in Panigaon city of the district.
According to reports, the body was found deserted on the side of the national highway.
Deka was reportedly returning home from his work, when the incident occurred.
It may be mentioned that the body has been sent for post mortem reports and further investigation into the matter is underway.
