‘Decision on another lockdown in next 8-10 days’ Maharashtra Deputy CM
The Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar on Sunday said that the state might go under another COVID lockdown after huge group of crowd witnessed during festival seasons. Ajit Pawar said that “There were huge crowds during Diwali period. Even at the time of Ganesha Chaturthi, we saw crowds. We are speaking to relevant departments. We’ll review the situation for next 8-10 days and then a decision will be taken about the lockdown.”
However the Maharashtra Government has allowed re-opening of schools for classes 9 to 12 from Monday onwards depending on the Covid-19 situation in local areas. Total COVID cases in Maharashtra is 16,51,064 and currently there are 81,512 active cases in the state.
