10,753 Infections and a Slight Decline in Covid-19 Cases in India
Guwahati: 10,753 new infections were reported nationwide in the last day marking a slight decrease in the daily Covid-19 cases.
Data from the Union Health Ministry that was updated on Saturday shows that there are now 53,720 active cases.
27 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours bringing the overall number of cases to 5,31,091.
On the other hand, the country saw 6,628 recoveries which resulted in a total of 4,42,23,211 recoveries with the recovery rate currently standing at 98.69 percent.
According to the report, the weekly positivity rate was 4.49 percent and the daily positivity rate was 6.68 percent.
A total of 220.66 crore vaccine doses have been given so far as part of the nationwide vaccination drive with 397 doses given in the last 24 hours.
Mock exercises were conducted on April 10 and 11 in a total of 33,685 healthcare facilities, including 28,050 public facilities and 5,635 private facilities amid a slow rise in Covid-19 cases in numerous states.
CEO of Serum Institute of India Adar Poonawalla stated that doses of the adult Covovax-Covid booster shot would arrive in major cities in four to five days while a representative from Bharat Biotech affirmed that the company was prepared to resume the production of Covaxin.
