Deepika Padukone dropped from Bhansali’s Baiju Bawra

Guwahati: Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone has been removed from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next project, Baiju Bawra for demanding equal payment as her husband who is the leading actor for the movie.

However, this is not the first time the actress had asked for not a penny less, not a penny more as remuneration. She had demanded the same while working with the director earlier as well but this time Bhansali “regretfully” denied her request for the payment terms.

The film is the remake of the original 1952 Baiju Bawra which was starred Bharat Bhushan and Meena Kumari. The film revolves around a story related to a young musician and a challenge that was thrown on him Tansen at the court of Mughal ruler Akbar.

It may be mentioned that the 1952 film had made Rs 1.25 crore which is equivalent to Rs 109 crore or US$15 million in 2019 back then during its release.
