Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to visit Assam today, will address public gathering in Barpeta, Kokrajhar Ahead of Lok Sabha Elections
Guwahati, 14th March: Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to embark on a crucial visit to Assam today, where he will address public gatherings in Barpeta and Kokrajhar.
His itinerary includes speaking engagements at a Karyakarta Sammelan in Kokrajhar, indicating the significance of his presence in bolstering the morale of party workers as the Lok Sabha elections draw near.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has expressed confidence in the performance of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Sarma stated that the alliance is poised to secure 11.5 seats, with hopes of clinching all 14 seats in the state. The goal reflects the ambitious aspirations of the NDA as it gears up for the electoral battle.
In preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allied parties, Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL), have laid out their contesting strategy.
While the BJP will vie for 11 out of 14 seats, AGP and UPPL will compete in Barpeta, Dhubri, and Kokrajhar seats respectively. This strategic allocation underscores the collaborative efforts of the alliance to maximize their electoral gains in Assam.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, amidst his third Lok Sabha election campaign, recently concluded a two-day visit to Assam, a BJP-governed state. His visit underscores the party’s concerted efforts to consolidate support and strategize ahead of the impending polls scheduled for April-May this year.
