Delhi: 4 more cases of Omicron reported, tally reaches at 6
Guwahati: Cases of new variant omicrons of corona virus are on the rise in the capital Delhi. Four more cases of Omicron have been reported in the state, increasing the total number of cases six. All these six patients have mild symptoms and one of them has also recovered, but 5 patients are still hospitalized.
Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain said on Tuesday that so far 6 people have been found infected with omicron variants in Delhi out of which 1 patient has recovered.
All the cases of Omicron have been found to be among the people from abroad, all the cases are stable and the situation is under control at present. Jain said that at present 35 covid infected patients and 3 suspected cases are admitted in LNJP hospital. The Delhi Government is monitoring the situation.
A total of 74 people from abroad were admitted to LNJP from Delhi airport so far, out of which 36 have been discharged, 38 patients are still hospitalized.
Out of these, 35 are corona patients, out of which 5 are omicron positive and 3 are suspected. An omicron infected has been discharged from the hospital.
Officials said on Tuesday that Delhi’s first omicron patient was discharged from LNJP hospital. The 37-year-old from Ranchi had arrived in Doha from Tanzania and Delhi on a Qatar Airways flight on December 2. He lived in Johannesburg, South Africa, for a week and had mild symptoms. Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital has been designated for treatment of patients infected with the new Omicron variant of Covid-19.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had on Monday said that his government may also ban the conduct of Christmas and New Year events if needed in view of the prevention of the spread of the new variant of corona virus Omicron (Omicron Variant). However, he clarified that no such measure is required in view of the present situation.
