Delhi: High security alert issued after inputs of terror attack
Delhi: A high-security alert has been issued in New Delhi after receiving inputs of possible terror attacks in the National capital.
According to a special cell officer of the Delhi Police, several persons received an anonymous email regarding the incident and informed the UP Police.
According to the officer, the email was supposedly issued from the terrorist organisation Tehrik-e-Taliban (India cell).
The Uttar Pradesh police subsequently forwarded the email’s data to the Delhi Police.
In response to the tips, Delhi Police conducted precautionary searches in New Delhi’s Sarojni Nagar market on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Ashok Randhawa, president of the Sarojini Nagar Mini Market Traders Association, stated Tuesday that markets would be shuttered due to a security issue.
“Due to a security danger, Delhi police have received orders to close marketplaces and maintain a high level of vigilance,” he alleged.
Meanwhile, reportedly the police officials denied issuing any orders of closing the markets.
