Delhi: Man Chops Partner’s Body into 35 Pieces, Dumps in Forest
Guwahati: In a horrific incident, a man allegedly strangled his live-in partner, cut her body into 35 pieces, and left them in Delhi’s Mehrauli forest over the course of 18 days, says police sources as reported by NDTV.
According to the reports, the man reportedly steps outside daily at 2:00 to dispose of the body parts.
Aftab Ameen Poonawalla allegedly murdered his live-in partner Shraddha on May 18 after a dispute. According to reports, he then cut her body into 35 parts and purchased a refrigerator to store them. He scattered the fragments across the Mehrauli woodland over the course of the following 18 days, they added.
26-year-old Shraddha met Poonawalla while working at a call centre for a large corporation in Mumbai. They began dating and later resided together. The couple eloped and arrived in Delhi when her family rejected their relationship. They began residing in a Mehrauli apartment, the report of NDTV said.
Soon after, Shraddha stopped returning calls from her relatives. On November 8, her father Vikas Madaan came to Delhi to check on his daughter. flat was locked when he arrived. He went to the Mehrauli Police and reported an alleged kidnapping.
He filed a complaint and the police arrested Poonawalla on Saturday.
According to police sources, he admitted throughout the investigation that they constantly quarrelled because Shraddha wanted to wed him.
The police have filed a case of murder and are searching for Shraddha’s body.
