Deputy CM Mukul Sangma Accused of Planning to Join BJP After Meghalaya Election

Guwahati: Former Chief Minister Mukul Sangma and his team are planning to leave the Trinamool Congress and join Bharatiya Janata Party after the upcoming elections, according to Meghalaya’s Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong.

According to Tynsong, Mukul and BJP had already made arrangements and Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma made a hint about it at a public meeting.

He advised the “people not to trust Mukul’s leadership,” alleging that since he won’t win many seats in the election, Mukul is likely to join the BJP.

The Deputy CM also refuted Mukul Sangma’s claims that the NPP is a BJP front organisation but he predicted that Sangma would undoubtedly join the party following the election.

Conrad K. Sangma had “warned” TMC chief Mamata Banerjee about party leaders who planned to leave after the election claiming that this was a well-known fact in political circles.
