Determined Tripura Student Earns International Record for Miniature Art

Agartala: From the small village of Salema in Tripura’s Dhalai district, a student named Tarnesha Das has proven that extraordinary achievements can blossom from humble beginnings.

In a stunning display of skill and precision, Tarnesha has secured a place in the International Book of Records by meticulously inscribing the name of Lord Ram 36 times on a single jackfruit seed measuring a mere two centimetres. She accomplished this remarkable feat in just two minutes.

Officials from the International Book of Records verified her record through a live online video call and subsequently presented her with an official certificate and a medal. This is not the first time Tarnesha, the daughter of Piyush Kanti Das, has been recognised for her incredible talent. In 2023, she etched her name into the India Book of Records by mapping 21 different countries on 21 lentil grains.

Tarnesha expressed her immense pride in representing her family, her village of Kakurchhara Sarkar Para, and the entire state of Tripura on an international platform. She credited her success to the unwavering support of her family, the guidance of her art teacher, Rajib Rudra Pal, and the encouragement of her friends. Emphasising the positive aspects of technology, she also took the opportunity to advocate for using mobile phones for educational purposes rather than solely for social media.

Tarnesha’s journey from a small village to an international record holder is a testament to the power of determination and skill, a story that brings pride not just to Salema, but to all of Tripura.
